This Turquoise statement necklace is one of my one-of-a-kind, exclusive jewelry pieces. You can be assured no one else will be wearing this same necklace. I never replicate my one-of-a-kind necklaces.
The copper focal piece and toggle clasp started as a sheet of copper. For the focal piece, I cut out a rectangle and folded it in half by hammering, annealing, and running it through a rolling mill. The next step was to hammer and anneal it several times to stretch the copper for the design. Then I used a cutting sheers to make the final design. I used a couple of different hammers for the texture. The final step was to sand all the edges. This focal piece is one of the pieces I made when I took my metal smith class at UWL. The turquoise stones were hand-knotted using silk thread to hand-knot between each turquoise stone.
