I have chosen New Horizons, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence as a way of giving back to my local community. I chose them because there are a couple of women near and dear to my heart who suffered domestic violence. I didn't know about it until they had gotten up the courage to leave. Seeing the effect it had on their lives made me want to help other women survivors.
As of 2018, I donate 10% of every
jewelry sale to this local organization. For the month of October - Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I also donate 20% of every jewelry sale for that month to New Horizons.
I created this Healing Heart Pendant Necklace in honor of the women who survived and those that didn't make it. The cut down the middle is their scar as their heart will never be the same as it once was. Each scar is different because I hand cut each one, just like each survivor has a different story. Therefore, no two heart pendant necklaces will be the same.
I hand cut, texture, sand, and rivet each heart pendant and donate 20% from every sale of my
Healing Heart Pendant Necklace to New Horizons.
