What Do You Need To Do To Be In An Art Fair?- Creative Jewelry by Marcia

Art Fair Season is just around the corner. Many people have asked over the years, what do you need to do to get into an art fair, just come and set up your tent and jewelry? If it were that easy, everyone would do it. Today, I'm sharing with you the process to get accepted into an art fair.

There is a process to follow and deadlines to meet when applying for art fairs. I am required to submit an application with four photos of my jewelry, a booth photo, and a brief description of my jewelry and process. Along with that, I need to include a jury fee. Yes, I need to pay to apply for an art fair.

A committee reviews all the applications by looking at the photos and then determines who will be selected to participate. If selected, I submit the payment for my booth fee. The jury fees can run anywhere from $25 - $50. For the art fairs I participate in, the  booth fees range from $125 - $150. The larger art fairs that run 3-4 days cost a lot more.

I submitted the above photo for my booth photo. This photo can't have any signage that shows my name or business. I redid my booth display in 2020 with new table coverings and wooden displays. Since I need to submit a booth photo, it is important to periodically update my booth photo with my latest jewelry collections. Also, everything in my booth needs to be sturdy enough to withstand the strong wind that goes along with outside art fairs.

When deciding on which four jewelry photos to submit, it is important to include my best work. This is kind of like when you want to look your best for a wedding or a special event. I want everything to look as perfect as possible. The photos I submit should be a sampling of the women's jewelry I will be selling.

I'd love to answer any questions you have. You can put your questions below in the comments.

I hope to see you at some of my Art Fairs this year if you are in the area. If not, you can check me out at CreativeJewelry by Marcia
